1. Provider and scope
The provider is Mateusz Konieczny — Balance IT, ul. Święty Marcin 29 lok. 8, 61-806 Poznań, Poland, NIP 7812090221, REGON 541862820; contact[email protected]. These terms govern the free website, calculator, camera movement estimate, local fit journal, educational guides and feedback form at openbikefit.com.pl.
2. Starting and ending the service
A free electronic-services agreement starts when you open or use a feature. No account or payment is required. You may end it at any time by closing the site; you can also delete local fit data inSettings & privacy. The terms are available before and during use in a format you can save or print.
3. Technical requirements and risks
You need a current JavaScript-capable browser and internet access. Camera features require HTTPS, camera permission, a compatible device and enough processing power. Saving progress requires first-party browser storage; offline use requires the service worker/cache. Browser, operating-system, network or device limitations can reduce accuracy or availability.
Protect access to your device and exported JSON files. Clearing browser data deletes local sessions. Like all web software, the service can contain defects; keep your browser updated and stop using a feature if it behaves unexpectedly.
4. Health and mechanical safety
Results are confidence-rated starting hypotheses based on self-reported inputs and two-dimensional pose estimation. They do not determine the cause of pain or prove that a position is safe. A safety-screen red flag pauses automated fitting. Severe or worsening symptoms, persistent numbness, weakness, circulation signs, recent trauma or inability to pedal comfortably require appropriate professional assessment; call local emergency services when urgent.
Independent recordings are compared for internal agreement before hardware advice is shown. Agreement can repeat a systematic camera or setup error, so it is not laboratory validation, a guarantee of accuracy, or evidence that an adjustment will improve comfort. An inconsistent condition keeps concrete hardware advice locked.
Make only small, reversible changes, record the original position, follow the bicycle/component manufacturer's torque limits and minimum-insertion marks, and stop if symptoms worsen or control is affected. The service does not replace a qualified bike fitter, physiotherapist or clinician.
5. Permitted use
Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, disrupt availability, submit unlawful content, impersonate another person or include medical records, passwords or other sensitive data in feedback. Users under 16 should use the service with a parent or legal guardian and must not submit feedback without their involvement.
6. Intellectual property and open source
Site text, design and branding are protected by law. The application source can be inspected in itspublic repository; public visibility alone does not grant a software licence. Third-party libraries and cited research retain their respective rights. Nothing here grants rights to the OpenBikeFit or Balance IT marks beyond ordinary reference to the service.
7. Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep the service accurate and available but do not promise uninterrupted operation or a particular fit, comfort, performance or health outcome. To the extent permitted by law, Balance IT is not responsible for losses caused by ignoring safety warnings, incorrect measurements, unsupported devices, user-made mechanical errors or third-party outages. These terms do not exclude rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, especially consumer rights and liability for intentional harm.
8. Complaints and governing law
Send complaints to [email protected] with the affected feature, date, device/browser and expected resolution; do not attach health records. We will respond within 14 days. Polish law applies, without depriving consumers of mandatory protection in their country of residence. Consumers may use competent consumer-protection bodies and courts under applicable law.
9. Changes
Material changes will be dated and published here. They apply prospectively. If a change affects an ongoing service in a way that requires notice or consent, we will provide it as required by law; otherwise you may stop using the service at any time.
